Yes - They Still Make Lawnmowers in the UK! Inside Inside the Factory’s Latest Episode

If, like me, you’re a fan of Inside the Factory, then get ready - because this week’s episode is one that lawn mower lovers won’t want to miss. I’ve been watching this show for years, and I still get excited every time a new one drops. The latest instalment - all about lawnmowers - is no exception, and I honestly can’t wait to see it.

A Proper British Manufacturing Story

It might surprise some people to learn that lawnmowers are still made right here in the UK, but they absolutely are - and in impressive numbers too. This episode takes us to the Hayter factory in Hertfordshire where around 15,000 lawnmowers are produced every year. That’s no small feat, especially in an age when so much garden gear seems to come from overseas. 

The team follows the production of classic petrol-powered machines, including the Harrier 56 - a model that has become something of a cult favourite among British gardeners for its reliability and performance.

What to Expect in the Episode

As always with Inside the Factory, this episode isn’t just a tour of machines and belts. 

You’ll see:

• How the metal bodies are made and finished.

• The meticulous assembly of engines and blades.

• Paddy McGuinness getting stuck in - from powder-coating parts to testing mowers on the factory’s own test lawn.
