RHS Garden Bridgewater in Salford is set to transform into a spectacular winter wonderland as RHS Glow returns for the 2024 festive season, starting on November 27. This year’s event promises visitors an enchanting 1,440-meter trail featuring a range of magical, interactive installations and festive treats that will delight young and old alike. As guests stroll through the illuminated pathways, they will encounter whimsical light displays, mesmerizing projections, and captivating sculptures that create a sense of wonder. In addition to the dazzling visuals, there will be cozy areas to relax, along with festive food stalls offering seasonal delights such as mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, making it the perfect outing for families and friends. The atmosphere will be filled with the sounds of cheerful holiday music, adding to the joyous experience that awaits every visitor.

Visitors can look forward to highlights such as touch-responsive giant petunias, shimmering yew dome tunnels, and a new starry archway—a stunning entrance to the illuminated world within. Seasonal charm fills every corner with sparkling snowflake lights, glittering tunnels, and fairy-lit Christmas trees, creating an unforgettable festive atmosphere. As guests wander through, they can also enjoy festive tunes, with a selection chosen by attendees, ensuring that everyone finds their holiday spirit.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Marshmallow Station near Garden Cottage will offer a cozy treat, allowing visitors to toast gourmet marshmallows over open fire pits—a perfect spot for warming up on chilly winter nights.

Adding to the magical evening, the Midnight Gardener will dazzle the crowd with an interactive light juggling show, combining skillful effects and artistry for a captivating spectacle. Another anticipated installation, “And Then I Slipped,” by award-winning art collective I Don’t Love You Anymore, will immerse visitors in a mesmerizing cascade of light designed to mimic a radiant waterfall.

Fans of winter folklore are in for a special treat with the event’s “Jack Frost – A Winter Story.” This story, a collaboration between beloved gardener and broadcaster Alan Titchmarsh and composer Debbie Wiseman, narrates the classic tale of Jack Frost, bringing it to life with music and narration as part of the illuminated trail.

Food and drink will also take center stage at RHS Glow, with seasonal hot chocolate (with the option to add Bailey’s) and mulled wine on offer at the Shepherd’s Hut. The Bridgewater Café will offer winter favorites, while the Stables Café will have an Italian twist with options like pizza, arancini, and cannoli, catering to all tastes.

Running through December 30, RHS Glow at RHS Garden Bridgewater promises a unique and immersive winter experience that families and friends alike can enjoy. Tickets are available now for this popular event, with full details available on the RHS website.
