About Open Framed Generators
Framed generators use a steel roll-cage frame that protects the engine and alternator from impact damage — perfect for vans, sites and rough handling. Most have pneumatic wheels and lifting eyes for moving around a job.
Because they don't use inverter electronics, framed generators deliver high continuous power output efficiently. Expect 2,500W to 8,000W from typical UK petrol and diesel framed models.
Framed generators are ideal for power tools, lighting, pumps, welders and most domestic appliances. They're not the best choice for sensitive electronics unless paired with a surge protector or AVR (automatic voltage regulator).
