The Hyundai HYSC1800E is a corded 1800W electric scarifier with a 38cm working width, 20 hardened steel blades and a swappable spring-tine raking drum. It sells for roughly £130–£160 at UK retailers and is built for small to medium lawns of up to about 186m² that need a yearly clear-out of moss and thatch. It's a good-value maintenance machine – but it is not a true aerator, and it won't rescue a badly neglected or compacted lawn on its own.

Still, a wider pass means fewer lengths of the lawn, which matters when you're doing two passes at right angles.

The single dial runs from −12mm down into the soil to +10mm above it. In practice the +10mm position is for moving the machine between areas or the lightest rake, while −3mm to −6mm is where most domestic lawns should start. Only drop to −9mm or −12mm on a thick, well-established lawn in autumn – going straight to maximum depth is the most common way owners shred a thin lawn.

Its width, power, dual drums and warranty punch above its price, and for a typical suburban lawn it's all the machine you need for a yearly autumn scarify.
